{"id":11778,"date":"2022-10-25T13:51:53","date_gmt":"2022-10-25T17:51:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mappyhour.org\/blog\/?p=11778"},"modified":"2024-03-12T13:43:49","modified_gmt":"2024-03-12T17:43:49","slug":"chi-purple-loop-hike-at-palos-trails","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mappyhour.org\/blog\/2022\/10\/chi-purple-loop-hike-at-palos-trails\/","title":{"rendered":"CHI: Purple Loop Hike at Palos Trails"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Earlier this month,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mappyhour.org\/chapters\/chicago\">Mappy Hour Chicago<\/a>, in partnership with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/159192664692009\">Women Who Explore: Greater Chicago Area<\/a>, traveled to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/fpdcc.com\/places\/trails\/palos-trail-system\/\">Palos Trail System<\/a>\u00a0for a fall foliage hike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group followed the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.gaiagps.com\/map\/?loc%3D15.3\/-87.8908\/41.7197%26pubLink%3Dxbk0B9BI8anL7xDlJyFrEUCK%26trackId%3D224ed2ea-a65f-47b1-bc94-44290c9c979e%26layer%3DGaiaTopoRasterFeet&amp;sa=D&amp;source=editors&amp;ust=1666723662518041&amp;usg=AOvVaw3EPj11220ZO0UlUPGUpiqy\">Purple Loop<\/a>&nbsp;trail, a close to 2.5-mile route on the forest\u2019s north edge, following the ravine-filled topography of this region. The Palos Trails are notably the most hilly system of trails throughout the Chicagoland area.
