If you\u2019re not safe, you\u2019re not able to help anyone.<\/li>\n<li><b>Step 2: What Happened to You?<br \/>\n<\/b>Assess the location, severity of the injury, and other indicators of the patient\u2019s situation. Jot down what you can in your notebook or phone to track and report accordingly to doctors once they make it to the scene.<\/li>\n<li><b>Step 3: Not on, Me!<br \/>\n<\/b>Body substance isolation (BSI) should be top of mind \u2013 meaning you want to avoid any bodily fluids from the patient in the case they\u2019re contagious or diseased.<\/li>\n<li><b>Step 4: Any More?<br \/>\n<\/b>If there are any other patients, which need the most attention?
