Description

You saw a gorgeous sunrise from the top of Old Rag this weekend, but somehow your instagram (#nofilter) just doesn't do it justice. Or maybe you brought your new camera along, but you still can't find the right angle to capture the rolling landscape around you. Mappy Hour is here to help.

On June 28th, photographer Lydia Thompson (https://www.instagram.com/lalalydia/) will share her tips and tricks for taking great photos outdoors. We'll cover the basics of photography, including light, composition, and moment, and talk about how to edit photos on the go, so you don't have to wait until you're out of the woods to share your adventures. We'll also discuss packing tips, and how to find the balance of good photo gear that doesn't break your budget or your back.

We'll meet at Georgetown Waterfront Park (https://goo.gl/maps/ZAFxRZ84gLA2) so you can practice shooting photos with your new skills. Whether you've got a new DSLR you want to learn to use better or you just want to find the right insta filter, Lydia will offer hands-on advice you can use on all your future adventures.

Around 7, we'll migrate up the street to Patagonia to share photos and plan adventures over beer and snacks. Beer and food are free, but bring your maps and cameras!
