Description

Josh Kuhn, the Wilderness and Public Lands Organizer at Conservation Colorado, will be giving us a primer on our Public Lands. We will review how our public lands came under attack, why you should care, and provide some local examples of what you can do.

Josh will provide a quick outline of types of public lands and to what degree are they protected now? We'll see how public lands are being threatened; why are public lands important; who benefits from them; and why should we be concerned when we hear that public lands are threatened, and what are the threats?

This month, we also acknowledge Abigail Wise and the contributions she made to Mappy Hour Denver as a Chapter Leader! She is moving onward and upward for a new work-opportunity in Santa Fe.

Thus, we seek individuals who are excited to help the leadership committee. If you're curious about getting involved in programming and planning, please e-mail Jeremy Goldsmith at info@jeremywgoldsmith.com and explain why you're interested. If you can, please provide examples of your experience with community engagement, volunteering, and strong organization skills.
