Description

John Kelly describes himself as "ultrarunning data scientist with a triathlon habit." A DC-area runner, John was the only finisher of the 2017 Barkley Marathons, making him the 15th person to ever finish the notorious race. He also holds a Guinness World Record for the fastest marathon dressed as a video game character.

How did John train for "the race that eats its young" in DC? How did he race the Barkley and Kona in the same year? And what character was he dressed as when he ran that marathon?

We'll find out at the next Mappy Hour, as we return to Arc'teryx to talk trail running and endurance sports with one of DC's best endurance athletes.

We're also partnering with our friends at City Kids again to help young people in DC achieve their outdoor goals. If you can swing it, we're asking everyone to bring a pair of smartwool socks or a nalgene to help City Kids equip their participants for outdoor adventures. Each pair of socks or water bottle earns you a raffle ticket for some sweet Arc'teryx gear!
