Tuesday, June 19, 2018From 12:00 pm to 1:00 pmDescription
Mappy Hour Field Trips are events and trips to get folks outside and active with each other and our community. Join Mappy Hour's first Field Trip to listen to a conversation on how parks can improve public health.
"For the Love of Cleveland" is a series of discussions hosted by the City Club of Cleveland in Public Square. This year, all discussions will revolve around placemaking: "the places we use, the impact they have on our lives, and the people who work to build them."
On June 19th, For the Love of Cleveland will be focusing on the critical role parks and green spaces play in creating a healthy neighborhood, and how limited accessibility to green spaces in poor neighborhoods exists and can be fixed. The panel will include:
- Jacqueline Gillon, Community Engagement Specialist, Thriving Communities Institute at Western Reserve Land Conservancy, and Slavic Village resident
- Stephen Love, Program Officer, Environment, Cleveland Foundation
- Alex Robertson, Program Director, Recess Cleveland
- Shanelle L. Smith, State Director, The Trust for Public Land
