Description

Mappy Hour + friends are riding out to Peninsula Quarry.

The ride will be 22 flat miles on the Tow Path Trail from Tremont to Peninsula.
Our group will meet at the corner of Starkweather and W 14th St in Tremont and depart at 10 am sharp. We will bike out to Peninsula Quarry to take a dip in the swimming hole before riding back to Tremont. Entrance into the Quarry is $9, cash.
Round-trip distance is 44 miles with the group expected to return to Lincoln Park in the early evening. Please bring sunscreen, snacks, and plenty of water.

Those interested in a shortening the ride back to Cleveland by 13 miles can take the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad from Peninsula to the Rockside Rd. Station. From Rockside Rd., you would have to ride just 9 miles to Tremont. One-way tickets are $5 through the Bike Aboard program: https://www.cvsr.com/take-the-train/bike-aboard/
Check the schedule to choose your train out: https://www.cvsr.com/take-the-train/national-park-scenic/

Our route meanders along the Cuyahoga River and through industrial areas to Cuyahoga Valley National Park. We'll ride over suspension bridges, see historic locks, and maybe even spot some Great Blue Herons. https://www.ohioanderiecanalway.com/explore/the-towpath-trail/
