We have all been told that spending time in the outdoors has the ability to change you. As cliché as this may sound, I would have to agree with this statement. Well…at the very least, the outdoors has taught me what I should change. Let’s be honest change is hard. However, just because something is hard does not mean it unattainable. In fact, it just means it is worth it. Back in August, we learned some tips and tricks to backpacking as well as how Travis’s experience changed him. This month, we are super excited to be working with Blue Sky Fund and Vasen Brewing to show you how the outdoors is changing the students of Richmond Public Schools. You guessed it, this month is all about Transformational Experiences in the Outdoors. Colvin, a Richmond Mappy member, and Blue Sky Fund employee will be sharing her experience in the outdoors while hiking the Tour de Mont Blanc. We will also be sharing how a local non-profit is using the power of the outdoors to impact the students of the Richmond Public Schools. Joins us Wednesday, October 3rd and learn about how you can have a life-changing experience in the outdoors and how you can spread the change to local students in the Richmond Public School System.
Side note: Blue Sky Fund has their annual Hike for Kids Event on October 27th. We are trying to get a team together from Mappy Hour to participate. If you are interested, don’t hesitate to reach out. All proceeds directly impact the number of school Blue Sky Fund can reach this coming year. Vasen has also agreed to give a portion of the proceeds on Oct. 3rd to support Blue Sky Fund so come thirsty!
