Description

Last month we went climbing - this month we're heading into the elements (but seriously, please bring layers) to do some winter hiking in the Catskills.

Specifically, we're going to to Giant Ledge and Panther Mountain for a 7-mile hike.

The cost of this Field Trip covers:

  • Transportation to / from NYC (skip the car rental ($150) + sleep on the way back (priceless!))
  • Snowshoes / Micro-spikes if needed
  • A certified Wilderness First Responder will be on the trip with us - for that just-in-case peace of mind

Depart: at 6:30AM from 43rd & Lexington
Pack:
-2 liters of water (not in a bladder with a straw... they freeze)
-headlamp
-non cotton layers (base layer, mid layer, outer layer)
-hat, gloves, extra pair of wool socks

Please wear appropriate shoes (aka hiking boots). We're going hiking in the winter!

Note: for all of you ambitious hikers out there - Panther is a required Catskill 3500 Winter Peak so get ready to check that off your list.
