Description

Tonight's workshop is all about planning, finding and safely consuming water in the backcountry. Led by FreeStone Expeditions Greg Wilson, we'll start the night with route planning and preparation for long trips and expeditions. How do you assess the potential water sources and plan accordingly? (Maps will be present!)

We'll also seek to answer the eternal question: iodine, pump, UV, or other method? We'll be bringing a suite of water filters that are used in the backcountry, review the pros and cons of each and do a taste test (because we're New Yorkers, we like our water delicious).

These will be hands on classes and restricted to a maximum of twenty people so come for a more personalized experience with a group of curious (and tactile) outdoor enthusiasts.

The series is hosted by our friends at Mighty Hatchet / 718 Cyclery.

Note: no door tickets, no waitlist, no refunds.
