Description

Ever been by the section of the outdoor store with maps laying around and felt completely inadequate? Felt like your iPhone was a better option until you realized your GPS signal doesn't work out in the woods?

If you have never been lost before then you haven't been adventuring hard enough. Come listen to our friend Becca Jungers (experienced mountaineer) 'guide' us through some general map reading skills and tips. For 7 years, Becca instructed 40 day long courses in the beauty that is Wyoming; from rock climbing, backpacking, mountaineering, finding some shade to brew up some coffee, you name it, she’s probably dabbled in it.

We will have a general session introducing Mappy Hour, listen to Becca teach us how to read topographical maps/explain why she believes it is vital we all spend our fair share of time outside and off the grid, and answer any questions you may have before we spend the rest of the evening building community and having a few beers.

Do you live in the city and LOVE the outdoors? Join NWA Mappy Hour to meet likeminded people and plan your next adventure!

What's Mappy Hour, you ask? Mappy Hour is a happy hour for city dwellers who love the outdoors. Want to learn how to kayak? You're sure to meet someone who's out on the water every weekend. Planning your first backpacking trip? There's definitely someone drinking a beer next to you who's hiked through a national forest.
