Description
Tuckerman Ravine, perhaps the most famous New England ski descent, is the mecca for backcountry skiers and splitboarders every spring.
Tonight, a panel of local White Mountain experts join us to talk about protecting the area, finding the best lines and other spring skiing events in the region (including Granite Backcountry's Wild Corn Shindig!)
The incredible panel for the night includes:
- Hilary McCloy (Athlete, former US Ski Team member, Physical Therapist and Athlete coach)
- Blake Keogh (Freeskier, Mountain Guide & Avalanche Instructor)
- Andrew Drummond (Ski Mountaineer & Owner of Ski The Whites)
Tyler Ray (Backcountry Skier, Granite Chief of Granite Backcountry Alliance) - moderator
All donations tonight will go directly to the Granite Backcountry Alliance to support their work creating, improving and maintaining ski glades in Graniteland! Bonus: one donor will be randomly selected to win TWO free tickets to the Wild Corn Festival including the skimo race.
This event is part of the Mappy Hour 2021 Backcountry Skiing Series
From uphill at a resort to multi-day hut trips, here's a collection of resources to help you find snow on your skis.
From uphill at a resort to multi-day hut trips, we're building a collection of resources to help you find snow on your skis.
Editor's Note: the mountains take on new dangers and challenges in the winter. We highly recommend you pair any of the below resources with AIARE classes and further snow safety education.
Thanks to our friends at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. for helping to make this series possible. They're providing free shipping of Sierra Nevada brews for Mappy Hour attendees. Use code GETSIERRANEVADA for free shipping from TapRM or visit your nearby Whole Foods.
