Description

Join us for an adventure story night with Alex Pancoe, a local mountaineer and climber, who will share his story of summiting Mt. Everest in 2019.

We'll also check out his Mt. Everest photos as we see what the journey looked like through his eyes -- from the bottom of Everest Base Camp to the top of the world.

Alex will share with us:
• His stories and experience summiting Mt. Everest
• How he trained and mentally prepared for the dangerous climb
• The gear he needed to successfully complete the 8,000m climb
• His give-back philosophy and fundraising efforts through climbing

In addition to Mt. Everest, Alex has completed the coveted Explorer’s Grand Slam -- reaching the North Pole and South Pole, and climbing the Seven Summits (Everest, Aconcagua, Denali, Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Vinson, and Puncak Jaya or Kosciuszko).

He continues to climb peaks all around the world, most recently returning from a technical ice climb called the Moose’s Tooth in Alaska.

Shout out to Arc'teryx and Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., sponsors of this event and the Chicago chapter of Mappy Hour.
