Description

We're adding another monthly event to the mix -- we've got a social sipping happy hour, a themed event, and now a casual campout!

Join us for March's monthly campout at the Chisel Branch Hiker Biker Campsite on the C&O Towpath!

Chisel Branch is just far enough away from town to feel remote, but not so far that you can't get to easily for a weekend. In other words, it's the perfect getaway to get an early jump on the season.

Food and water are provided, but please do consider bringing your own snacks and hydration! The water pumps are not functional at these hiker-biker sites this early in the season.

Portable restrooms are available on site, as well as a picnic table, fire pit, and an unbeatable riverside view.

Tickets are $10.00 to cover the cost of food, water, and firewood.

Interested in getting there by bike? Jun will be leading a no-drop bikepacking trip out to Chisel Branch, starting at High Road Cycling in Georgetown (3210 Grace St NW Suite 100, Washington, DC 20007).

We'll meet at around 10:00am to get to know each other and grab a snack, with a hard rollout at 11:30am. The distance along the path will be 30 miles, so expect to be on the move for around 4 hours (including breaks).

If you are interested but don't have bikepacking experience, reach out to Jun at juniperdarwinyoung@gmail.com directly and we'll get you set up.

All bikepackers are expected to ride with a helmet, bring along a flat kit, lights, and other essentials, and have some familiarity with riding in a group.

We'll ride back to Georgetown in the morning, with a rollout of around noon.
