Description

Mappy Hour, Outdoor Afro, Latino Outdoors and Destination Backcountry are teaming up to create a summer schedule of public transit accessible hikes for outdoorsy New Yorkers who want a little bit more nature in their lives.

For our June installment, we're heading to Harriman for hike on the 8 mile loop to Lake Skenonto. This hike is a perfect way to get out of the city for a day with new adventure friends. Note: there are a few rocky and uphill parts - we recommend you wear hiking boots. On a scale from 1-10, this hike is a 6.

What's Included

  • Led by a professional guide
  • A pair of Darn Tough socks!
  • The chance to win an icebreaker shirt

How to Get There
We'll be taking New Jersey Transit from "New York Penn Station" to "Tuxedo Station".

Hop on the 9:14AM train heading to "Trenton". At Secaucus we'll hop off and it's an easy transfer to the Port Jervis line which will drop us off at "Tuxedo" next to Harriman State Park.

We'll all be on a WhatsApp thread together so we can navigate NJ Transit as a crew.
