PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT IS CANCELED DUE TO IMPENDING HURRICANE WEATHER.

We're heading to Swains Lock Hiker/Biker Campsite for a weekend of chill times and cooler temperatures! Maybe even a Paw Paw foraging walk and visit to Great Falls?

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please be advised that I will no longer be providing food, water, or snacks for these campouts, so be prepared to feed and hydrate yourselves for the weekend! Firewood, however, will still be provided!

This campground has portable toilets and a water pump. You will need a method to purify and filter this water before using it to cook or drink.

No reservations are required for this campsite, so it tends to be popular. As such, we may be looking at a fuller campground and may end up making some more friends!

Interested in getting there by bike? There will be a no-drop bikepacking trip out to the site starting at High Road Cycling in Georgetown (3210 Grace St NW Suite 100, Washington, DC 20007).

Rollout time is still TBD!

We'll hop on to the C&O Towpath and take a super leisurely 17-ish mile ride to the campground. Be prepared to be in the saddle for around 1.5 hours (including breaks).

All bikepackers are expected to ride with a helmet, bring along a flat kit, lights, a lock, and other essentials, and have some familiarity with riding in a group and signalling.

We'll ride back to Georgetown in the morning, with a rollout of around noon.
