MICHIGAN ICE FEST is the perfect introduction to the sport because it reflects the wide spectrum of the ice-climbing community. Here, you can expect to see first-timers and professionals side by side. The daily speaker sessions and happy hours provide a window into a new world full of new skills and new friends.

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is the backdrop for this annual festival in Munising, MI, just 6 hours north of Chicago. Registration for the festival gets you access to the 'off crag' community events; reserve gear or book a clinic to learn how to ice climb with a guide or in the demo area.

What included:

Mappy Hour is handling the weekend's most important logistics: the stay.
We have reserved a block of rooms in town to ease the planning process for you and the Mappy Community.

The vibes in town are amazing, so being close to the action is the best way to take advantage of this weekend in the UP. These rooms book fast, and most people attending end up staying 30-40 minutes outside of town.

Stay Options:

Each room includes two queen beds and a pull out sofa bed.

1. $225 per person for a solo bed (sofa or queen)
2. $160 per person; if you and a friend share a queen bed (all gendered room)
3. $160 per person; if sharing a queen bed with another participant (single gendered room)

If planning to share a bed with a friend, email Dietrich after each participant registers to link your reservations on the room assignment list.

Currently, rooms are reserved for check-in from Thursday to Sunday morning. Adjustments and accommodations can be made extend check-out to Monday. Requests for adjustments should be submitted by February 3, 2025.

2. Register with MICHIGAN ICE FEST for event access. ($70)
3. Add DEMO GEAR or CLINICS ($70 -$160) during registration.
