As Outside Online writes in their most recent article about Mappy Hour, "Mappy Hour—a portmanteau of maps and happy hour—got its start three years ago in New York City. The idea, says 26-year-old cofounder of Mappy Hour NYC, Alex Tilsley, is to “trade beta on adventures, facilitate relation­ships,” and generally make it easier for city-bound people to do what they love: get outdoors. The premise is that sometimes accomplishing those things means hanging out in a neighborhood pub, drinking beer, and swapping stories."
