Description

We're teaming up with the experts at Paragon Sports for a night dedicated to gear!

Marcin will join us to cover the necessary gear for heading into the backcountry for ski touring and splitboarding. If you're wondering what kind of boots you need or if a soft shell is preferable to hard shell... tonight's your night to find out! Specifically, Marcin will cover:

  • Ski/Snowboard boots for touring/splitboarding
  • Ski/snowboard bindings for touring/splitboarding
  • Skis/snowboards for touring/splitboarding
  • Other gear needed (shovels, probes, beacons, backpacks, avalanche training, etc)

About Marcin
Marcin grew up skiing competitively at Stratton Mountain in Vermont as a weekend warrior. Wanting to work in the ski industry, Marcin changed careers 11 years ago and started working in the ski department at Paragon Sports. Over the years he has been a salesperson, has managed all aspects of the ski servicing business and more recently as buyer has been tasked with sourcing all ski and snowboarding product for the store. In addition to spending plenty of time inbounds at resorts, he has logged considerable time in the North East backcountry

From uphill at a resort to multi-day hut trips, here's a collection of resources to help you find snow on your skis.

From uphill at a resort to multi-day hut trips, we're building a collection of resources to help you find snow on your skis.

Editor's Note: the mountains take on new dangers and challenges in the winter. We highly recommend you pair any of the below resources with AIARE classes and further snow safety education.

Thanks to our friends at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. for helping to make this series possible.
