Description

Well, it is called Mappy Hour after all! Come one, come all for a night diving deep into maps and map reading.

The workshop will cover everything from:
-different types of maps and cartographic styles + where to find the best maps
-how to use the legend to decipher different maps
-reading maps (from contour lines to terrain details)
-using your maps to plan for the trip and then to navigate on the trail

This class will be co-led by Justin Bailey of the Appalachian Mountain Club and Sarah Knapp of Mappy Hour.

These will be hands on classes and restricted to a maximum of twenty people so come for a more personalized experience with a group of curious (and tactile) outdoor enthusiasts.
