DC: Anacostia Riverkeeper

Mappy Hour DC gathered in February at Filson’s new store (1631 14th st NW), to talk with Trey Sherard, a biologist with Anacostia Riverkeeper.

Anacostia Riverkeeper’s mission is to protect and restore the Anacostia River for all who live, work and play in its watershed. They advocate for clean river communities and work with fellow Waterkeepers in the Chesapeake Bay Region to protect the waterways and stop pollution.

Trey taught us about the how Anacostia Riverkeeper works to mitigate stormwater runoff, cleans up trash, and protects the river with advocacy efforts to clean up toxic “hot spots”.

Special thanks to Trey, Anacostia Riverkeeper, Filson and Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.!
