For December Mappy Hour we worked with OvR to take over Fontana’s back room for a snow sport themed extravaganza of workshops, prizes, and even kombucha!
This month, instead of having one main speaker we split up the room into four “stations” for a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure Mappy Hour.
We had Jon of Pure Strength NYC talking about training for skiing and riding off of the mountain (hint: pogo sticks are great training for moguls). Lara dug deep into nutrition, highlighting what you need to be fueling your days out with.
Matt, took the more advanced athletes for an avalanche safety discussion And Abbi, whipped out the yoga mats (yes, in the middle of the bar) to do some yoga poses that are great for athletes.
After that we got to try out a new drink from Brooklyn called “Kombrewcha” (conclusion: it’s delicious) and hung out with maps and new snow sports buddies.
And one of our favorite instagram photos from the night comes from @bklynjunglebook: it’s called “Cheers to Mappy Hour”:
Thanks to everyone who came and of course:
