NYC March Mappy Hour

Holy moly what a night at Snow Peak last week! Thanks to all who joined in for delicious brews from Sierra Nevada and intel from NYC native Dawson and Catskills guide Will.

We started the night off hanging out and shmoozing then moved into intros, a quick presentation and then more in depth adventure corners.

Dawson, a volunteer for the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference and the NYC Mountain Bike Group so needless to say he knows local green space very well. Among his recommendation was Freshkills Park (you know the one built over that old landfill?)

Dave of Destination Backcountry led a small group that focused on fishing, primarily in the Catskills (the birthplace of American fly fishing).

OutdoorFest founder Sarah led a talk on climbing and how to transition from our favorite local gyms to our amazing local crags.

Will Soter of Upstate Adventure Guides led an Adventure Corner on hiking locations in the Catskills accessible by bus.

Thank you to everyone who joined! We can’t wait to see you all at the next Mappy Hour (Slacklining!) on April 27th. Register here.
