San Francisco Pop Up Mappy Hour

The very first Mappy Hour in San Francisco centered around close to home places to adventure. From the Hipcamp staff’s favorite campsite (Wildtender Ranch) to maps reaching from Tahoe and Desolation Wilderness down to Big Sur, the crew was full of stories and tips to share. The official speaker of the night was Saano Adventure‘s lead guide Max Stewart who recommended three nearby adventures.

1) THE LOST COAST TRAIL

Recap: 4+ hours drive from San Francisco, this 24.6 mile section in the King Range sounded epic with rugged mountains and tidal navigation.

2) KAYAKING TOMALES BAY

Only an 1 hour drive from SF the 15 mile paddle in the tidal water in Point Reyes National Seashore offered adventure, wildlife and natural beauty.

3) ROCK CLIMBING THE OCEAN CLASSICS

For the climbers among us, beach climbing was the theme of the night. Max offerd multiple beach climbing spots mainly in Marin with other highlights including beach bonfires and a nude beach.

Final notes:
