Description

We've heard from the expert about Forest Bathing, now let's try it for ourselves!

Sage Raindancer joins Mappy Hour to leads us on a walk through the beautiful Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. We'll be actively learning (and re-learning!) what it means to interface, connect, and become a part of the outdoors.

We'll be capping the event at 15 members, so make sure to sign up asap!

You'll need:

  • Weather appropriate clothing
  • Water
  • Snacks
  • Something to sit on -- sit pad, small camp chair, blanket, yoga mat, collapsible stool, etc.

Sage’s outdoor experience expands from being a veteran in the Army, to being a bike messenger in the mid to late 90's, to being an Outdoor Instructor/Experience Guide with REI’s Outdoor School, an alumni of NOLS & Outward Bound, and is a guide for Nature and Forest Therapy.

Sage has led nature therapy walks, or forest bathing walks, for the general public at the National Arboretum and Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. Sage also leads walks with Nature Worx, a non-profit located by the Upper Chesapeake Bay. Nature Worx leads walks for the general public, and with business and local universities. Nature Worx also specifically provides walks with veterans, facilities for folks in recovery from substance abuse, and for women and children in transitional housing.

Health and Safety

We will be following all local and national guidelines. Right now, that means we do not need to wear masks while gathering outdoors. If regulations change, we'll email everyone with our updates. We encourage anybody to wear a mask if they feel more comfortable in one.

Remember to dress weather appropriately!

This event will proceed rain or shine, and will only be cancelled in the event of severely inclement weather (i.e. nearby thunderstorm).
