Description

We're teaming up with Arc'teryx Chicago for a night dedicated to connecting more deeply with nature and ourselves.

Led by certified Forest Bathing facilitator, Darnell Calhoun, you'll engage in nature mindfulness through the practice of Forest Bathing. Please be prepared to sit and lie on the grass (if it's not wet).

We'll start at the Arc'teryx Bucktown Outlet store, take a short walk away to The 606, and then head out for a guided Forest Bathing experience along the trail.

After the event, we'll head back to Arc'teryx for free Health-Ade kombucha and snacks.

Thanks to our partner Cultured Forest!

What is Forest Bathing?
Forest Bathing or shinrin-yoku is physiological and psychological exercise that started in Japan in the 1980s aiming to "offer an eco-antidote to tech-boom burnout and to inspire residents to reconnect with and protect the country’s forests." via NatGeo.

About Darnell Calhoun

My name is Darnell Calhoun. I am a nature therapy guide. I have practiced forest bathing over the past 9 months in Chicago. I founded City Forest Bathing to promote and encourage staying close to nature to support human wellness for those who live in the city. I offer individual and small group nature mindfulness walks for adults and children through Forest Bathing. I share my experience through social media (@glitch131313 on Instagram) and with blockchain technology through NFT's.

My background is in Justice Studies from Northeastern Illinois University. I currently work with youth as a youth exercise specialist certified through the National Academy of sports medicine. When I am not working, I love working out and enjoying a game of Pokémon Go with my wife.
