Mappy Hour D.C.

MAPPY HOUR’S SECOND CITY: THE CAPITAL

Last night we launched our second Mappy Hour location in Washington D.C. at local bar/event space Penn Social. 130 local outdoor enthusiasts came from all corners of the Capital to share their expertise, meet new adventurous folk and enjoy a post work drink.

We set up our name tag stations as usual with maps in the main bar on tables and walls. Since this was our launch event we had a new area called Mappy Hour ideas where we heard everyone’s ideas for upcoming events from “wilderness skills” to “bigger name tags.”

We loved seeing D.C. community partners come out as well including reps from The Nature Conservancy, The Outdoor Industry Association and REI. As luck would have it The Wilderness Society was having a happy hour at Penn Social that night so we invited them over to join as well. We set up our classic map and heard all kinds of amazing ideas from “mouse fly for trout in Alaska” to “Bike camp from Delhi to Kuala Lumpur.”

Thanks again to everyone for coming and keep your eyes on outdoorfest.com/mappyhourdc for details on our February event!
