Guests at Santa Fe’s pop up Mappy Hour gathered at Cheesemongers of Santa Fe and were treated to a wide variety of speakers from the Santa Fe outdoor community!
Will Mushen, a local farmer who believes in growing healthy dirt through natural techniques, on sustainable farming. He brought in soil samples (worms included!) to show us what healthy dirt and clay look like.
Chantell Murphy, who volunteers with the U.S. Forest Service, on trail maintenance brought in a map of some of the local projects they’re involved in, a major one of which is measuring trail/forest traffic and usage.
Dave Gold, who runs the largest hiking group in Santa Fe and one of the largest in the state, on hiking in Santa Fe and how to get involved with the group.
Emmie Dolfi, who works for the Trust for Public Land, on environmental conservation brought a bunch of maps that showcased their projects, and also talked a lot about gathering park data and how they’re look for ideas for how to use that data once they have it.
Thanks so much to everyone who joined in on Santa Fe’s first pop up Mappy Hour-we can’t wait to see you next time!
